To compliment this weeks post on MacApper describing my first impressions of the AppleTV T2 update, I’ve added a further post today about VisualHub.
VisualHub is a super video conversion tool with excellent integration with the latest range of Apple’s non-Mac devices.

Since Macworld in early January I, like many others, have been eagerly awaiting the AppleTV take 2 update. Near the end of last month, Apple announced a 1-2 week delay and in true Apple style, waited until the last day of the 2 weeks to finally release the software update on Tue 12th.

Apple finally pushed out 10.5.2 yesterday evening. It brings support for TimeCapsule and improvements to Airport among a long list of fixes. With this release out of the way, Apple is good to start shipping the TimeCapsules. What it didn’t bring was support for Time Machine and AEBS external storage. This is still a nasty thorn in my side.
But, the bigger question for now and the one I’m really on the look out for, is, where is the AppleTV update? I’m sure it was partially delayed last month before of the Leopard update. So, let’s hope it’s any day now. I’m happy to make time on Friday night to run the software update Apple, if that works for you?
Update: Apple apparently heard my call. The AppleTV update has just been released, a few hours after my initial post. Guess what I’ll be doing tonight? No.. not that!
It’s been 10 days since the Macworld Keynote and I’m still eagerly awaiting the Apple TV update. They said within the next two weeks, but we know that new devices are shipping from China with the revised firmware installed and those lucky folks are sounding pretty happy.
It’s become a nightly ritual for the past week that I run the software update process before going to bed hoping that it’ll suddenly start to download. With 10.5.2 update expected any day now, it’s very likely that the Apple TV update will be available along with, or immediately after.
With the writers strike and good first runs being light at the moment, rentals on demand would be sure to hit the ground running. Though to be honest, the geek in me is really excited about streaming HD Podcasts.
